Drill Pipe

TPS conducts thorough inspections of drill pipes in strict adherence to both API and DS-1 standards, thereby guaranteeing the utmost quality and safety in the inspection process. Adhering to API standards ensures that drilling contractors can confidently rely on inspection procedures that align with the industry's finest practices. Moreover, TPS offers the flexibility of inspecting Drill Pipe either on-site or at their facility, accommodating both Range 2 and Range 3 specifications.

Tubing

TPS conducts meticulous inspections in strict accordance with API and DS-1 standards for all used tubing, regardless of ownership—whether it belongs to TPS or another customer. Each tubing joint undergoes inspection tailored to customer specifications or API standards. Additionally, Turnkey provides comprehensive services for your work string at our facility, including serialization, magnetic particle testing, ultrasonic shear wave testing, and a state-of-the-art 4-way multi-function stationary EMI system.

Bottom Hole Assembly

TPS conducts BHA inspections with unwavering integrity, strictly adhering to API and DS-1 standards. In addition to our commitment to quality inspections, we offer field re-facing services for Rotary shouldered connections on the spot, providing a time- and cost-efficient alternative to sending damaged connections for repair. Our comprehensive inspection scope covers everything from the "Kelly to the Bit," encompassing various components such as subs, drill collars, stabilizers, heavyweight drill pipe, motors, directional tools, and Monel tools.

casing

TPS delivers dedicated CVD crews for on-location casing inspections and tallying. Every connection undergoes a thorough visual inspection, full-length drift examination, and meticulous tallying in precise run order. Additionally, TPS offers in-house storage and management services for your casing, guaranteeing accurate footage and correct sizing when dispatched to the location.

hammer/bit

TPS excels in conducting Air Hammer/Bit inspections directly at customer facilities, meticulously examining all internal components to ensure optimal functionality. Our comprehensive inspection process includes detailed documentation of each hammer component in our inspection report, accompanied by provided images for all requested information.

hardbanding

Hardbanding involves the application of a [super-hard metal] coating onto a [softer metal part] precisely at areas prone to severe wear or abrasion. This strategically applied "hard band" serves as a protective layer, effectively safeguarding casing and prolonging the lifespan of valuable drill string equipment. It offers resilience against the wear caused by rotational and axial forces during drilling operations and the process of tripping in and out of a well, ultimately minimizing equipment deterioration.

motor/directional tools

TPS excels in conducting comprehensive inspections of Motors and Directional tools directly at customer facilities. Our expertise extends to various types, including mud motors, air motors, thru tubing motors, shock tools, and other Monel/Steel directional tools. Additionally, we offer on-site inspections for rig ends at drilling locations and perform meticulous LPI inspections on Monel tools, ensuring adherence to the required temperature conditions for inspection.

CNC Machining

We specialize in reworking tubular connections. Following recutting, each connection undergoes inspection by one of our in-house Level 2 inspectors, to verify acceptance and dimensional criteria. To guarantee precision and eliminate any residual metal shavings, every recut connection undergoes copper sulfating after acceptance and is subjected to a thorough full-length drift examination.

Bucking

TPS has a mobile bucking machine equipped to efficiently disassemble damaged collars and affix new collars. With precision and expertise, each coupling is meticulously installed, adhering to the specified torque parameters essential for optimal performance.

OD/ID Cleaning

Discover our leading OD/ID Cleaning service tailored for tubing and drill pipe, accommodating up to a 4 1/2” ID. Using cutting-edge technology, we employ a process that utilizes a brush on our state-of-the-art Hub City machine, inducing internal rattling for comprehensive cleaning of the ODs. To ensure the quality of each joint, we implement a 44” drift during the pipe-running process, guaranteeing full-length drifting and the removal of any loose scale. Additionally, our versatile services extend to water blasting the IDs, providing an all-encompassing solution tailored to your specific requirements.

Rig/Weld

We utilize a variety of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods to inspect welds and rig components, including LPI, MPI, VT, and UT. Our expertise allows us to verify the absence of damages such as surface cracks, sub-surface cracks, pitting, or any other abnormalities in the base metal.

pipe straightening

Our Hydraulic Gag Press Straightener is a crucial tool for rectifying bent joints resulting from drilling operations. In addition, we employ this straightener to address bends identified during the OD/ID cleaning process and prior to initiating a recut in our CNC machine. With the capability to straighten tubing ranging from 2 3/8 to 5 1/2 inches, our equipment ensures precision and reliability in restoring the integrity of the joints.

3rd Party Monitoring

TPS provides comprehensive 3rd party monitoring services for various inspection needs, including Drill Pipe, Tubing, BHA, Casing Running, and Air Hammer building. Our dedicated team is available to travel to your location, ensuring strict compliance with your specified procedures and standards. We work with other vendors to ensure they are performing the job correctly. Following our monitoring activities, you receive a detailed written summary along with accompanying pictures highlighting any identified discrepancies.
